Bon Voyage to Historic R/V Knorr Cape Cod said an emotional good-bye to an historic old friend on the misty Ides of March, 2016. The world famous Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, along with former crew members, Woods Hole residents, and well-wishers, bid farewell to the U.S. Navy owned research vessel, R/V Knorr, which set sail from Woods Hole for the last time, bound for Mexico. After 44 years of service, the legendary "global class" research ship was decommissioned in 2014, and gifted to the Mexican Navy in 2015. 16 Mar
